Decca ISIS Alarm System Upgrade
Many High Speed Ferries were built with Decca ISIS alarm systems installed, these have served well for many years but spares are now in very short supply with some processors not available at all.
We have developed a retrofit solution which has passed DNV plan appraisal, Factory Acceptance Tests and Sea Acceptance Tests.
As these Ferries are similar in design our system can be easily adapted and be supplied in a short timescale.
Our system uses high quality, marine type approved, industrial Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and colour touchscreen display units, which are configured with proven software.
Our Solution
Our system uses high quality, marine type approved, industrial Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and colour touchscreen display units, which are configured with proven software.
Workstation sizes and quantities can be adapted to suit the owner’s requirements. Fully managed EtherNet switches are used to enable the DNV ‘Network Storm’ requirements to be comfortably passed.
The equipment was also designed with installation in mind, to allow the new equipment to be installed in the existing spaces with minimal site work needed. This allowed the system to be installed
and commissioned by 3 technicians in 3 weeks.
The solution for the double engine room unit is shown below, the equipment was mounted on a new panel which was mounted directly into the door of the existing enclosure.
The panels were supplied with the wiring to go directly into the existing terminals at the rear of the enclosures as shown in the picture below.

OTHER DETAILS
A serial data link to the VDR was included and two new battery backed power supplies were provided.
